Account book, 1854-1856, 1917-1937.

The manuscript was originally used by A. Giffin to record the debits and credits he accrued for his work as a painter. He noted such activities as painting and graining two refrigerators, painting a bookcase, varnishing, painting gutters, hanging paper, and purchasing putty along with amounts owed to him for a day of labor. The volume was later used by Frank A. Giffin to record seeds he ordered from 1917 to 1937. Under the name of each seed company he used, he noted the type of seeds ordered, the date ordered, and the date received. Also included are accounts for the estate of Sarah M. Child (1917), its distribution, and taxes paid on it.
